Commitment II

What God Sets in Motion

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou would prosper and be in good health even as you soul does prosper.” III John 2 (KJV)

God has set in motion our spiritual, physical, and financial freedom. Are you living in it His freedom or are you tied to the burdens of debt? Are you spiritually in debt to the things of your past that still hold you in the binds of what you did back in the day? Are you physically in debt to bad eating habits and chronic diseases because you refuse to bring your body under submission to your spirit? Is financial debt burdening your money and credit?

If you answered “yes” to any of the aforementioned questions do not let guilt or shame raise its ugly head. You have the victory in Christ Jesus; you just have to walk in what is rightfully yours. Prosperity, good health, and spiritual maturity.

John writes in his third Epistle, the second verse, that he wishes above all things that we prosper and are in good health, even as our souls prosper. John makes it is clear in this passage of scripture that your physical and financial health are tied directly to your spiritual health.

God has set in motion His financial plan for our lives, but some of us have refused to live by it. In order to have true prosperity your soul has to prosper. Your soul has to grow and mature in the things of God. You have to allow the word of God to change you mind and thereby change your life.

You may say that John said that and not God, but according to II Timothy 3:16-17 all scripture is God breathed. God inspires even scriptures that are not directly spoken by Him.

If Christ said that He came that we may have life and have it more abundantly, then why are some Christians living beneath our rightful place?

Take time right now and do a quick assessment of your abundant life, in the physical, spiritual, and financial realms. Are you living in abundance in all three areas or are you just getting by? God has planned for all His children to live above the rest.

If you are not living your life in abundance, you need to check out the word of God. If your family is not living as the head and not the tail, as the first and not the last, then my brothers and sisters, check out your Word. God secured our victory over every area of our lives. It was set in motion the moment Jesus entered the womb of Mary. It was confirmed when Jesus went to the cross for the expressed purpose of defeating hell and the grave to secure our salvation and our full salvation package.

“See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction.” Deut. 30:15

Blessings,
