Season to Rejoice!
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4 – 7
This is a season for rejoicing! We are celebrating the birth of Christ! It doesn’t make any difference what day he was actually born on, we are celebrating that he was born in our hearts. That’ why we know he’s near. Jesus is in our hearts. He is in our spirits. With Jesus being that close to you what are you suppose to be anxious about?
The commercialization of the Christmas season by the world has made this a very stressful time for so many. Don’t buy into. Getting stressed out over the holiday season steals your joy and causes you to mess the real message of the Christmas season: God loved you so much He sent His son. That’s it Charlie Brown! That’s the real meaning of Christmas!
Take some time to go see some lights. Find an old fashion church Christmas play. (You know the ones where the kids mess up the lines but the parents are beaming with pride.) Dust off your old Christmas albums, yes I said albums, and sing along. Watch “A Charlie Brown’s Christmas.” Give to Toys for Tots. Take the time to rejoice and be glad. We have so much to be thankful for.
