Walking in Freedom

Walking in Freedom

Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
II Corinthians 3:17

I have a good friend who suffers with anxiety. Everything is a reason to be afraid. Everything is a reason to worry. One day I asked her if she had prayed about something and she said, ‘Yes, I’ve prayed about it, but it didn’t do any good. I still have the problem and it’s not going away until I do something about it.’ When I asked her what she could do that God couldn’t do, she looked and me and stuttered something about where is God when you need Him.

God is the only one who knows the true meaning of “perfect timing.” We know when we want something to happen. We know when we think we need something to go through, but God knows the perfection of time. He is the reason Ecclesiastes 3:11a was written, “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Because God knows what His will is for us, God is the only one who can say when the time is right for Him to manifest what we need or what we’re asking Him to do.

If my friend had turned over her anxiety to the Lord, and trusted Him to handle every problem that was confronting her, she wouldn’t have been so riddled with depression and would have been able to enjoy her life to a greater fullness.

By seeking His kingdom first, you can’t dwell on problems. You are so busy trying to fulfill your destiny in Christ that you don’t have time to dwell on the problems or burdens that have presented themselves to you. And, while you’re seeking God’s kingdom for you, you’re out of God’s way.

God doesn’t need a middle man (you and me) to get in His way while He’s working things out for our good.
[Excerpt from It’s Still Relative the Word of God for Today’s World.]

Jesus gave up His freedom in heaven to come to earth to die so that we might be free.

In place of worry Jesus gave us peace – …”Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”…John 14:27

In place of bitterness Jesus gave us joy – …”I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”… John 15:11

In place of anxiety Jesus gave us contentment – …”The fear of the Lord leads to life; Then one rests content untouched by trouble.”… 19:23

In place of fear Jesus gave us self-control – …”For God did not give us a spirit of fear (timidity), but a spirit of power, love and self-discipline (a sound, well balanced calm mind.)… II Timothy 1:7 (Amplified version)

In place of past failures, disappointments and heartaches Jesus gave us a new beginning – …”Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone and the new has come!”… II Corinthians 5:17

The list of freedoms that Jesus secured for us goes on and on.

It is our right to walk in the freedom that was won for us by Christ Jesus. Why not start living free today?

…”Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”…John 8:32

Blessings and Peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,
First Lady Anita
